Product Photography
We provide real installed photos of pale decks in daylight and overcast conditions, plus close-ups of the brushed surface and gap detail. Light colors can look quite different in bright sun and under cloud, so we show both, which helps designers and distributors judge how a tone will read in Northern light.
A note on winter use: in snowy regions, deck boards may be cleared with plastic shovels and treated with de-icing products. We can share care guidance for these conditions, including which shovel types and de-icers are gentler on a capped surface.
We can also indicate suitable joist spacing for the 20mm to 25mm boards, and recommend a ventilated gap under the deck, which matters more in cold, damp climates where trapped moisture can freeze and stress the substructure over winter.
Minimum Order Quantity & Pricing Structure
Pricing follows the underlying capped or bamboo fiber composite profile, with a modest adjustment for light custom colors. MOQ for a first trial order is typically 1 x 20ft container. Distributors serving seasonal garden markets can often combine several light tones in one container, which helps test which colors sell best before committing to larger stock.
| Order Volume | Pricing Tier |
| Sample boards and color chips | Sample fee + courier, often credited toward the first order |
| 1 x 20ft container | Standard FOB pricing |
| 1 x 40ft HQ container | Discounted per-sqm pricing |
| Distributor and builder volumes | Negotiated pricing with seasonal delivery scheduling |
Quotations are typically given as FOB Ningbo or Shanghai, with CIF and DDP available once the destination and Incoterm are confirmed. Standard payment terms are 30% deposit by T/T with the balance against the B/L copy. For European destinations, we can also quote to a named port or delivered address, and we prepare the customs documents your forwarder will need.
Because pale colors are often the most requested in spring, we recommend agreeing on your color mix and quantity in winter, so that goods arrive before the garden season begins.
We can also prepare a mixed-color quotation, so that a distributor can compare the price of several pale tones side by side and decide how to split a first container between them.
Please tell us whether you need the price for boards only or for boards plus clips, edge trim, and stair pieces, so the quotation reflects everything your customer will actually buy for a finished deck.
OEM & Customization Options
Scandinavian-style buyers tend to be precise about tone, since a pale color that looks slightly yellow or slightly pink can change the whole feel of a space, so customization is mostly about fine color control.
- Color matching - match a reference sample or a Pantone/NCS-style value as closely as our pigments allow, with several close tones offered for comparison
- Surface finish - fine brushed, soft matte, or grooved anti-slip for entrances, steps, and shaded areas that stay damp
- Board width - narrower or wider custom widths for a distinctive board pattern
- Matching accessories - edge boards, stair nosing, and fascia in the same light tone
- Retail and private label packaging - clean, minimal packaging for garden centers and building suppliers
For cabin and summer-house builders, we can supply the same light color for the deck, the steps, and the railing infill, so that the whole structure looks like one piece. We can also produce a small sample set of three or four pale tones for showrooms, allowing clients to compare them in their own light before choosing.
We can also supply a short color card of our pale tones printed and mailed to you, along with real board samples, since colors on a screen change from one device to another and pale shades are especially hard to judge that way.
If you supply a garden center chain, we can arrange shelf-ready sample boards mounted on a small display board with the color name and a short care note, so customers can compare pale tones in the store and choose with confidence.
Certification & Quality Control
Buyers in Northern European markets usually look closely at environmental and emission documentation, and at how the material performs in freeze-thaw conditions, so we prepare our documents with that in mind.
| Certification / Test | Availability |
| REACH / RoHS compliance | Standard formulation compliant |
| FSC Chain of Custody (fiber source) | Available on request |
| Formaldehyde content | No added formaldehyde; test documentation available per batch |
| Third-party lab reports | Freeze-thaw, water absorption, slip resistance, and UV reports available (SGS/BV/Intertek) |
| Factory quality system | ISO 9001 factory management system |
Our QC process checks color against an approved reference, with extra attention to pale tones, where small pigment variations are easy to see. We measure board dimensions and straightness, and we inspect the capped face for streaks or blemishes. For documentation, we can prepare a package aligned with what a European importer typically asks for, including declarations of performance where they apply.
If your customer requires a specific market label or declaration, please tell us early. We would rather confirm exactly what is needed than send a general certificate that turns out not to satisfy the reviewing party.
Batch records let us trace any shipped order back to its production run, which is useful if a customer later asks for documentation or if a replacement board needs to match closely. We keep this information for a reasonable period after delivery.
Where a European customer asks for a declaration of performance or a specific labeling format, please share the template, and we will fill in what applies to our product and tell you plainly which items we cannot certify.
Production Capacity & Lead Time
Scandinavian-style decking is produced on our capped composite lines, with lead time depending mainly on whether an existing pale tone is chosen or a new color match is requested.
| Item | Detail |
| Monthly capacity | Follows our capped composite line capacity |
| Sample lead time | 5-8 working days for existing colors and profiles |
| Standard order lead time | 20-30 days after deposit and color confirmation |
| Custom pale color lead time | Additional 25-35 days for color development |
| Seasonal note | Spring garden demand in Northern Europe peaks early, so orders confirmed in winter are much safer than orders placed in spring |
We provide production progress updates and can send photos of finished boards under daylight before packing. Because ocean transit to Northern European ports takes several weeks, please add both production and transit time when working back from your intended sales date.
If you sell through garden centers with a fixed shelf-stocking date, tell us that date when you request a quotation. We can then advise honestly on the latest order date that still meets your season.
For a first order in a new market, we suggest a smaller trial shipment ahead of the main season, so that you can test customer response and installation feedback before committing to larger seasonal stock.
We can also hold a small reserve of the most popular pale colors in finished stock for repeat customers, which shortens lead time for reorders of those colors. Please ask about current availability, since stock levels change and we do not want to promise what we cannot supply. If a color is out of stock, we will tell you the next production date.
Logistics & After-Sales Support
Light-colored boards show scuffs and marks more easily, so we take particular care with packing, and we plan documents so that clearance at European ports goes smoothly.
- Shipping ports - orders typically go out via Ningbo or Shanghai port; FOB, CIF, or DDP quoting available, including delivery to a named European port
- Surface protection - interleaving between boards, strapped pallets, and corner protectors to keep pale surfaces clean
- Documentation - commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and relevant compliance documents provided as standard
- Damage/shortage claims - please photograph any damage at unloading; verified defects are resolved through replacement stock or credit on the next order
- Installation and care guidance - manuals covering gaps, ventilation, hidden clips, and winter care including snow clearing
For distributors, we can prepare bundle labels and a short care leaflet in a format you can pass to end customers, which reduces after-sales questions about cleaning pale surfaces and dealing with winter conditions.
Our export team stays reachable by phone or WhatsApp through shipping and unloading, and can help your forwarder with document questions if a port or customs office asks for additional information.
For DDP shipments to Europe, we work with forwarders who handle customs clearance and delivery to a named address, and we prepare the documents in advance so the container is not held at the port. For sea freight, please allow for transit and port handling time, and tell us if your delivery site has restricted access or needs a pre-booked unloading slot. Our team will help coordinate with the forwarder so that the boards arrive in good order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do light-colored boards show dirt more?
A: They can show marks more than dark boards, which is why we suggest a capped, low-porosity surface. Regular rinsing and occasional gentle cleaning keep pale boards looking fresh.
Q: Will the boards survive freezing winters?
A: Composite boards handle freeze-thaw cycles well when installed with correct gaps and a ventilated substructure. We can share test data and installation guidance for cold climates.
Q: Can I use plastic shovels and de-icers on the deck?
A: Plastic shovels are generally recommended, and we can advise on de-icing products that are gentler on a capped surface. Please avoid metal blades that can scratch.
Q: Which colors are typical for this style?
A: Whitewashed oak, light ash, pale grey, and warm sand are common. We can send a small sample set so you can compare tones in your own light.
Q: Do you provide environmental documents for Northern European buyers?
A: Yes, we can provide REACH compliance, fiber sourcing information, and emission-related documents, and we can adapt the package to what your importer or customer requests.
Q: Can pale boards be installed in shaded areas?
A: Yes, but shaded areas stay damp longer, so we recommend a grooved or capped profile, good drainage gaps, and occasional cleaning to prevent any surface algae.
Q: Can these boards be laid over an existing concrete terrace?
A: Yes, with an adjustable pedestal or a batten system that leaves a ventilated gap and allows water to drain, rather than laying boards directly on the concrete surface.
